讲座内容介绍:
This three part presentation first looks at the Australian characteristics of developing sustainable homes in recent years. It introduces the challenges of home design and ownership before highlighting the importance and implications of building materials and design considerations. A research project which combines education with real-life house design, building research and construction practice is then introduced as well as key features of an exemplar home. The second part of the presentation considers recent trends of business operating patterns and emerging requirements in modern workplaces. By identifying limitations of conventional office building fitout methods, the presentation considers innovative building technologies such as raised floor systems and how they can help overcome existing problems and deliver features required in new office environment. A living laboratory project is used as case study to promote the potential of integrating all building components and services. Finally this presentation introduces new postgraduate courses at the Queensland University of Technology in Australia and how they have been developed in response to industry requirements, professional expectations and market demand.
